Display: Star Wars Day

STAR WARS DAY

Star Wars

Did you know that May the fourth is known as Star Wars Day? I didn’t until recently, but I was more than happy join in on the Star Wars madness. To celebrate I created a Star Wars-themed display in the main entrance of the school library, surrounded by plenty of Star Wars books.

Included below are links to the resources I used in the display. May the fourth be with you.

Resources

Star Wars BuntingREAD & THE FORCE WILL BE WITH YOU.

I found this extremely awesome Star Wars bunting on Ms. O Reads Books.  She provides a PDF download of the whole thing, which reads “READ & THE FORCE WILL BE WITH YOU”. It’s a large document, which makes it perfect for printing in either A4 or A3. Each letter, as you can see, also has a cartoon Star Wars character.

Star Wars Font

STAR WARS FONT.

You can download a Star Wars font from a few online sites. I got mine from dafont.com. It downloaded really easily and was even easier to install. Aside from the alphabet and numerals, the font also came with a range of familiar Star Wars symbols. Very cool. I used this font to create a simple poster, see the image at the top of the post, but you could use it to create any sign or display header.

Yoda ears

YODA EARS

We rather like dressing up in our library and Yoda ears make a perfect, but nice and simple, costume. I found these ears, as well as other Star Wars Day hats and activities on Nerd Craft Librarian.
